Each year the Texas High School Coaches Association (THSCA) recognizes senior high school athletes with Academic All-State honors.
Athletes are nominated by coaches for strong moral character, good standing with their team, and THSCA also considers the athletes’ GPA, class rank, and SAT and/or ACT score.
The highest level of recognition is the Elite Team which requires a near perfect score in all categories. After Elite, recognition is 1st Team, 2nd Team, and then Honorable Mention.
