Frank Alfaro 2018

Frank Alfaro graduated from Lytle High School in his hometown of Lytle, Texas.

Frank attended Trinity University on a Murchison Scholarship, graduating cum laude. He lettered for his college baseball team four years, and majored in history. He earned his Master's degree in educational leadership from UTSA, and his doctorate at Texas A&M in educational administration.

After college, he returned to his hometown to teach English and to coach athletics and debate. He was chosen as the 1996 Lytle ISD's Teacher of the Year. While teaching at Lytle, he also coached two state champion Lincoln Douglas debate winners (conference 2A and 3A), and numerous other state University Interscholastic League (UIL) medalists.

Frank worked at Alamo Heights High School as an assistant principal from July 2001 to June 2007. As a part time teacher and administrator at the high school, he taught English III, speech, and debate. In addition to teaching the class, he coached the Current Events team, Speech & Debate team, and the Mock Trial teams.

In July 2007, Frank became the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Dr. Alfaro has also served the Alamo Area Association of Supervision and Curriculum Development (AAASCD), most recently as the 2014-2015 President. In June 2010, Frank was selected as the district's Assistant Superintendent for Secondary Education. In July 2018, he was named Assistant Superintendent for Administrative Services.
